HOW ANNOYING ARE POP-UPS

How annoying are pop-ups.
Does anyone agree with me? Any time were are all accessing the internet either surfing the net for fun, studying and looking for information pop-ups still manage to anger me in some way. For example when im on the net, i'll be searching sites for either work or fun and these pop-ups saying that i have won a new laptop or a new car or something like that. I really hate this, people may or may not agree with me but i think it's crap.
If for some reason you don't know what a pop-up is i'll go into some detail about it and what it does.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pop-up states that popups are a form of online advertising on the World Wide Web intended to attract web traffic or capture email addresses.
Another thing that relates to pop-ups is "the pop under advert", which opens a new browser window hidden under the active window.

Personally, i really hate the pop under. We have pages opened then automatically theres a pop-under, though we do not immediately see it until we have closed our original window hence makes it difficult to know which web site it came from:
