HOW SECURE IS THE INTERNET?
Anytime you access the internet there are many dangers and risks that may arise. these risks come in many shapes and forms and can do anything from snoop out your personal data to raplicating themselves on your sistem which might destroy or corrupt many important files on your computer.
The most common of these risks are viruses that corrupt your system or access the personal data and information but there are many other serious risks that can locate who you are or may even steal your identity and credit card numbers.
as www.brightthumb.com states,
the 5 most common risks on a home computer are;
1. the "always connected home computer
This risk refers to always leaving your internet connection on which allows attacks any time of the day or night withought your knowledge.
2.Phishing Scams
These deceive you into revealing your personal, banking or financial information through links, usually in emails.
3.Borrowing
when you borrow someones computer just to check an email there are many risks. Some websites remember log-in information that will allow the person to access your personal emails.
4. Email Attatchments
when you open an email attatchment make sure its from someone you know.
5.Online “free” or advertisement-sponsored downloads
these downloads are suceptible to infections.
Withought the right protection you may find yourself with a compleatly corrupted system as many peaple like me have experienced.
I personally think that the internet is rather a dangerous place to be throwing around credit card numbers, bank details and personal information. many may agree with me or many may argue against and say that its much easier to get things done on the internet.
Whatever side of the arguement you take we can all agree that the internet is dangerous.
