Channel 7's decision to axe the free Tibet ad during the Beijing Olympic Ceremony had an obviously carefully conducted political motive. The old saying "keep your friends close but your enemies closer" may have come into the equation. Every country has censorship laws but China is certainly a nation that goes to extremes.
Another reason for the ad being cancelled at the last minute, may be because the Olympics is 'supposedly' a joyful time and people would not have wanted to be reminded of the horrible human rights issues that exist within China in regards to Tibetans.
It is indeed a very sad case of 'see no evil, speak no evil, hear no evil'. We as Australians can only hope that the human rights issues facing Tibetans in China improve, and that the current circumstances be brought to the global and international stage.
