Gaming

In my view, gambling is definitely harmful to people.
Firstly, gambling exposes people to negative behaviors and causes them to avoid normal patterns of life. Secondly, the fluky gambling game makes people nervous and causes many psychological, emotional and physical problems. Thirdly, Gambling is an example of poor parenting, because gamblers rarely have time for their families.

The law in many countries has specifically permitted gambling activity, and many big city gaming companies offer (legal) “gambling” activities to the public. Many gambling games, such as: casino games, table games, electronic gaming, sports betting, horses betting, bingo, online and mobile, which are now widespread, are very damaging as almost any game can be played for money. Some gamblers become addicted and have such heavy debts (that they could never pay) that they attempt suicide. Others are killed by those they owe money to.

Some groups argue that games typically played for money can also be played just for fun. They say the "actual value" is positive, because some games are generally offered as a way to keep our mind working and avoid dementia. Often people are cajoled by their friends into gambling games. They throw themselves into the game with great enthusiasm and spent more and more time immersed in the world of making-money, therefore they neglect their health, families and work duties. Many lose their jobs. Students waste their time and energy on gambling and also waste their talents.

Parents’ gambling has a profound effect on our children. Gambling around our kids may cause them to gamble too and it is wrong to gamble with our children’s future.

Gamblers often associate gambling with the idea of "getting rich quick" but there are so many reasons that it would be hard to single out just one. Studies show that though many people participate in gambling as a form of recreation or even as a means to gain an income, gambling, like any behavior, which involves variation in brain chemistry, can become a psychologically addictive and harmful behavior in some people. Reinforcement schedules may also make gamblers persist in gambling even after repeated losses. (Edit: Psychological aspects, Main article: Problem gambling)

In conclusion, gambling is harmful to people because it exposes them to negative behaviors and has many risks. The road to the overcoming a gambling addiction is long and full of pitfalls. So before you are tempted into placing a bet think about where it could lead you.
