So, Barbie turns out to be a prostitute. It's really not at all suprising considering the name. I mean we all should have seen it coming. Barbie. How many strippers and prostitutes are called Barbie? And how is an anorexic, blonde big-breasted plastic thing with no brain any different to Hollywood "Divas". Hollywood is possibly the biggest contributor to bad body image and it is really hard to blame barbie for that. What I prefer to blame is the liberal, capitalist, image-driven, self-obsessed, money-hungry, plastic society we live in. However, if we attack barbie why not go for Action Man. You could say that Action man promotes gun violence in young boys. Maybe it does. Who knows? All I know is that barbie is a doll which, like all human creation reflects our society. This reflection scares us and angers us and we don't like it.
